Posts Tagged: Animated Splash Intro

Several months back, after a long discussion with a few colleagues, I decided it was time to update my website. I was looking for something that would better represent my vision as a photographer now and in the years to come. It was also very important to me that my new site be very clean, elegant and showcase the work prominently. The search for a design team that would help me realize my vision quickly led me to liveBooks. Though I was hesitant at first to make the switch, the more time I spent with them the more at ease I felt. I’ll admit, some of my requests were a bit specific at times, but they somehow always found a way to create something better than I had ever dreamt of. And I couldn’t be happier with the results!

And with our companion WordPress blog offering the look and feel of his site translates across to his blog. His life’s goal to to be as creative as possible. We think he is well on his way!

Obviously, in our industry, a striking and well thought out website is paramount. I was initially drawn to liveBooks because of the customizable template idea. I wanted a site that was uniquely mine, but needed some parameters and didn’t want to have to think about coding, etc. My primary concerns were ease of use, elegant design, and uniqueness. I worked with my own designer to come up with the overall look and the liveBooks team took it from there to make it real. It was an easy and smooth process.

I recently upgraded to the Scaler version to get bigger images for those with larger monitors. Yet, those on laptops can still view a well proportioned site without scrolling. Some modifications to my original design were required, and the liveBooks team offered up plenty of options for me to choose from. Looks great, eh?

Davies and Starr

Posted by liveBooks

We have had our liveBooks website for several years and it gets us as much new business today as it did when we launched. I hate it when we have to send out an analog portfolio, all those big prints, fedexing and messengers, they put stickers on our beautiful expensive leather books, and they sometimes even steal your prints… liveBooks is the only way to showcase your work.

Davies and Starr are certainly some of the most creative people we know (and fun too:) This is a wonderful example of a website that has integrated still and video. Make sure you take a look at their innovative motion work.

We moved from hosting our own site to liveBooks about 6 years ago and have never looked back. liveBooks has stayed at the cutting edge of portfolio sites over the years which has allowed me to stay focused on my business, creating imagery. It seems every time I log in to update my site, the folks at liveBooks have added new functionality. As they have grown, liveBooks has also been able to maintain solid customer support. For me, the last piece to the puzzle was Scaler. We had been asking for larger images for the past year or so and liveBooks responded with Scaler! Now, my images automatically scale to the user’s screen which gives my work amazing impact. This is essential in the photography industry as in any visually driven business. I continue to be impressed with liveBooks and plan on using them well into the future.

At a young age Judy learned that having a camera in your hand afforded many opportunities for exploration (or blackmail, depending on how you look at it). But more importantly, cameras were far more interesting than traditional girl toys, and gave her a chance to explore unusual places. She went on to study journalism and sociology in San Francisco after which she moved to London to work as a journalist. It was her directorial debut for a four part documentary series landed her in Hollywood. She has since made many documentaries and stunning imagery. A notable project called “The Secret Life of Swimmers” has taken on a life of its own. To see more of Judy’s work visit her main website.

Your website is your most important tool. It is your online portfolio gallery, which is as important as a gallery show, so it should be perfect. In my opinion, source books are a thing of the past and people are going straight to the internet to find their talent… so it better look professional.

As an artist representative, I know you only have one chance to make a first impression. If your website is cluttered or hard to navigate, potential clients move on immediately. I recommend liveBooks to all my fellow creatives. Their sites are clean, simple and look incredibly professional, not to mention they are easy to maintain yourself. I have two liveBooks sites – one for my own personal photography and one for my brand new business.

I have been in business for 25 years and can honestly say that having a website is a must in the world as we know it today. A website is an introduction to you and your work. It is important to have the right colors, feel and emotion to captivate your viewer. I am an artist. I have a specific way I want my site to look. With my vision and liveBooks’ design knowledge, we put our heads together and made it happen.
The ability to integrate other services into my website makes my business work much more efficiently. When a client fills out my contact page shootQ starts working for me. I’ll have all my questions answered before talking to my prospective client. My website makes my life and my clients life easier.
I have been with liveBooks for 10 years and I have had a few site changes. Each time the process has been professional. I get a return phone call promptly and answers to my questions in a reasonable time. As a professional Photographer our business is personable. I like that liveBooks gets to know their clients on a first name bases, you are not known as a number. We are all going to fast in this world and it is nice to actually know who has been that helpful voice on the other end of the phone. My long standing relationship with liveBooks is proof that they are a valuable business partner.
liveBooks has been a brand name in the photography industry for many years… and they have always been ahead of the curve, helping to make our businesses grow with all that they offer. I am so grateful I found liveBooks 10 years ago. I have never looked further!

We’ve been liveBooks customers for over 5 years. So when we started our re-branding project last year we knew we wanted stay with liveBooks for our main web presentation. Our friend J Sandifer and the entire liveBooks design team worked tirelessly (and patiently) with us and our brand designer, Melanie Halim, for several months while we perfected and incorporated the new brand design in our upgraded custom liveBooks website.
We love the flexibility the liveBooks editSuite gives us and how easy the editSuite is to use! That coupled with great customer service and tech support will keep us liveBooks clients for quite some time to come. Thanks liveBooks!

Brian and Gry’s love of and passion for photography really shows in their wedding work. They’ve done a wonderful job incorporating their brand onto their website.

I chose liveBooks because their websites are easy for viewers to navigate and for the level of customization they offer. In the commercial photography industry it is important to stand out, especially when you are a small boutique style business in a secondary market such as we are. In order to draw in clients from various markets you must be unique and memorable. This is why branding is key. liveBooks worked with me to translate the identity of my business onto my custom website.

In my opinion a great business partner is accommodating, knowledgable and FAST. liveBooks is all of that. From design dilemmas to response times to general troubleshooting they have been stellar. I can always get in touch with a human if I have any questions or problems. They get the customer service concept.

Today RepGirl, Inc represents a select group if renowned and respected commercial photographers and provides top level service to clients all across the country from their base in Atlanta. I chose a liveBooks website was because I needed a well designed, intuitive administrative interface that allows me to upload my images from anywhere in the world. The liveBooks editSuite is so easy to use anyone can do it. I wanted to maintain control over the content on my site. With liveBooks I can upload my images as soon as I am done with a shoot – which I love!
Having a custom designed website allowed me to create an online presence that not only incorporated my branding but was a true reflection of who I am. It needed to show my love of travel, adventure and my passion for people and places. My loading bar states “Life is a collection of Experiences” and I feel fortunate to have had so many amazing ones that have come to life in my photos.
I believe that liveBooks’ SEO is going to drive even more traffic to my site. This in conjunction with targeted marketing campaigns will allow me to reach out to both new and existing clients – which I am very excited about!
In my opinion it is important for a website to have a clean layout that is easy to navigate and loads quickly. People have short attention spans these days so you have to make a first impression very quickly. Working with liveBooks was a real pleasure and I would recommend it to anyone looking to launch a new website!
