Travel Photographer

My website is the primary way I showcase my photography work online. It is also the portal to my press and blog. Working with liveBooks to create a custom designed site has been amazing. They consistently exceeded my expectations with solutions to the ideas I presented to them. I couldn’t be happier!

liveBooks websites are beautiful, professional and well thought out. As a full time photographer working exclusively in travel and advertising “on location” good visibility is the key to success. The liveBooks editSuite allows me to manage my website by myself wherever I am and whenever I want without having to use a web developer. Even at the airport waiting for a connecting flight! The editSuite is very easy to use, even for someone for whom English is not their native language. If I’m not sure about something, I can contact their support team and receive information quickly and easily.

My liveBooks website is one of the most important tools (in addition to my photo equipment of course…) used in my business. It allows me to make a living from photography. liveBooks provides me what I need and more!

Mathieu Dupuis is a freelance photographer based in Montreal, Canada. At barely 30 years old he already shows an impressive resume. At only 22, he signed his first publishing contract as an author and photographer with Les Éditions de l’Homme; the biggest French-speaking publishing company in North America. From this long-time collaboration emerged five hardcover selling books initiated and orchestrated by Mathieu Dupuis himself.

Shortly after these successful publications, the strong and trusting relationship between Mathieu and his editor opened doors to many photography contracts on different renowned publishing projects, leading him across Quebec and the wide Canadian territory. In between publishing projects, Mathieu maintains a well established full-time career in advertising and covering stories. Throughout the years, he was involved in numerous advertising campaigns such as the Canadian Tourism Commission and Tourisme Québec Government. He is also behind the corporate image of Quebec and Canadian National Parks since nearly 8 years.

Furthermore, he contributes to several periodical magazines such as Géo Plein air, Geographica, Canadian Geographic, Explore, Living with Style Wanderlust UK and Nature’s Best . On September 27th 2010, Mathieu Dupuis received the prestigious mention of “Picture of the day” from the National Geographic Society. Since then, several pictures of his have been added to the National Geographic Image Collection. In addition to this, NIKON has given him the honorable mention to be chosen as one of the 16 emerging talents of 2011 on the occasion of the Nikon Photo Contest International.

For me, the custom Scaler site is a magical experience. It engages viewers and delivers features tailored to the needs of a working photographer. I have the confidence of knowing that my work is accessible on any device, from iPhones to massive LCDs. It’s great to go large. One editor confessed that she found herself so attracted to the detail in the Scaler images that she reached out to ‘touch the animals’.

A website can quite often be a first impression for potential clients. Either through word of mouth, or direction, it’s the first opportunity most people have to view our work. I feel it’s important that the initial viewing make a lasting impression.

A colleague originally turned me on to liveBooks several years ago, and it’s worked for me ever since. My initial design, developed in part by the liveBooks team, stayed with me until a brand redesign a couple of years ago. The experience of my graphic designer and the liveBooks design team working together was a very smooth process, with great success and positive feedback.

With the arrival of Scaler, it allowed us to freshen up the site once again. Using the principals of the brand, Zoelle, our Digital Artist, worked with the liveBooks design team to simplify the website to be even more streamlined. The result is what we see today.

The ability to refresh the site and make changes as required help to keep things feeling new. Ease of navigation, flexibility in design and now being able to maximizing image size all add up to a great result. The customer support staff is fast, responsive, and always follows up to make sure any issue is resolved. This is why we keep working with the liveBooks team.

I chose liveBooks initially because it was the leading provider of portfolio websites and was highly recommended based on its responsive client support. I have found this to be true from my initial contact, and can honestly say that even as the company has expanded and evolved, I have been treated very, very well by liveBooks at all levels – sales, design, and support.

As commercial photographers specializing in architectural, interior, hotel, and resort photography, we are excited to have a liveBooks website.  liveBooks offers more than just an online presence, as the portfolio is clean and website design is based around the imagery.  AC Photo uses our website to engage clients, show clients work that only they can access, and sell images.  liveBooks offers us the ability to dialogue with clients at the highest professional level.  The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a professional online identity.

Their mission is to produce cutting edge photography that is successful as both a clear representation of any structure and an aesthetic masterpiece.

I chose a liveBooks website was because I needed a well designed, intuitive administrative interface that allows me to upload my images from anywhere in the world. The liveBooks editSuite is so easy to use anyone can do it. I wanted to maintain control over the content on my site. With liveBooks I can upload my images as soon as I am done with a shoot – which I love!
Having a custom designed website allowed me to create an online presence that not only incorporated my branding but was a true reflection of who I am. It needed to show my love of travel, adventure and my passion for people and places. My loading bar states “Life is a collection of Experiences” and I feel fortunate to have had so many amazing ones that have come to life in my photos.
I believe that liveBooks’ SEO is going to drive even more traffic to my site. This in conjunction with targeted marketing campaigns will allow me to reach out to both new and existing clients – which I am very excited about!
In my opinion it is important for a website to have a clean layout that is easy to navigate and loads quickly. People have short attention spans these days so you have to make a first impression very quickly. Working with liveBooks was a real pleasure and I would recommend it to anyone looking to launch a new website!

Over the course of Art’s 30 year career as a photographer, he has worked on every continent and in hundreds of locations. His images interpret and record the world’s fast-disappearing wildlife, landscapes, and native cultures, and they’ve been recognized throughout the world for their mastery of color, composition, and perspective.

The entire liveBooks process is so streamlined that I’d already had it done before I had to think about how it had to be done. From the moment I started adding content to my site I was impressed with the intuitive design and ease of use that the sites provide. Their designs are clean and easy to navigate, and the iPhone/iPad compatibility of the site is a necessity these days. It’s refreshing to not have to spend so much time with the technical details of doing updates to my site; I can spend it shooting, which is where I need to be. For me, liveBooks has it all covered!

Dave Powell: Shooting Tokyo

Posted by liveBooks

I am very happy with my custom designed liveBooks website. I love its clean professional look and feel. Prior to using liveBooks I was showing my work via my blog but as time went on, my best work would be lost as I posted new content on top of it. A portfolio site is a great way to showcase my best work and completes my online presence. I added an interactive landing page to allow for a more dynamic user experience. I also chose liveBooks as it allowed me a way in which I could display, price and sell prints with the integrated shopping cart.
