Lifestyle Photographer

To me it is SO important to not only showcase beautiful work but for your work to live in a space that is carefully curated… one that expresses your style. After having many failed and frustrating experiences with web designers I was beginning to think I would never find what I was looking for. Then one day I saw Ross Whitaker’s website and immediately called him. He told me, “Annie, look NO FUTHER…call liveBooks today!” The rest is history.

I have happily been working with liveBooks for the past four years. This is my second website with liveBooks and I recommend them to EVERYONE. Their design process is seamless and organized which makes you feel sane! Their designers are clear, concise, talented, and deliver the most beautiful design elements. My sites have been endlessly complimented and I always tell people, look no further… liveBooks is what you’ve been looking for!

Annie is inspired by interiors, architecture, textiles, light, patterns and colors. She loves incorporating these elements into every shoot and brings out natural moments by connecting with subjects and putting them at ease. We love how her custom designed interactive homepage immediately gives the viewer a compelling visual representation of what she photographs.

I have used liveBooks for the better part of 6 years for my commercial lifestyle and advertising photography website. I can’t imagine using anything else. I love the clean design and the fact that it is so easy to use. I have also taken advantage of liveBooks SEO capabilities - which has doubled my web traffic!

I worked with the designers at liveBooks to design my custom Scaler website and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The design team was quick and put in the extra time to make sure my site was everything I imagined. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend liveBooks to anyone looking for a superior photography website.

Andy Smith: Commercial Photographer

Posted by Sam Eriksmoen

Two years ago I relocated to London. I was concerned that my site would drop down Google search rankings because London is obviously a very competitive market. A few months ago my site made it on page one of Google searches for five of the keyword phrases I wanted it to appear under. My top listings are: Editorial Photographer London (#1 on Page 1.) Advertising Photographer London (#2 on Page 1.) Commercial Photographer London (#3 on Page 1.) Since I started to appear on page one I’ve received a noticeable increase in inquiries coming through my website. On top of great service, great design, and the ability to update my site in seconds, I know that my liveBooks site is being seen, which is obviously what it is all about.

Before devoting his energies to photography, Andy traveled the world. When I ask him why he decided to become a professional photographer he recalls a defining moment in his travels through India. A scene still sticks in his mind of seeing children washing up in toxic water in the slums of Mumbai; in the background of the image is one of India’s premier 5-star hotels. Seeing this juxtaposition, Andy felt compelled to capture this story and knew that there were more of these stories to be told.

Take a look at Andy Smith’s work and you’ll see that he’s a different kind of photographer. Alongside his lifestyle work, his portfolios are storybooks of real people, often working in unique environments, to provide goods and services that we use everyday. Andy’s most recent project showcases how larger corporations are investing back in the communities where they harvest resources; from funding schools and community programs to planning sustainable resource procurement. From food companies to fashion brands and rubber manufacturers, companies oftentimes have deep supply chains that include small shareholders in developing countries. Many corporations are investing in improving the lives of these people and creating sustainable systems that supplement the resources they harvest. In this time when news about corporations is overwhelmingly negative, it’s important that photographers like Andy tell these stories too. Read more about Andy’s new work and hear more of his stories on his liveBooks website.

“I love the ‘look and feel’ of my website. It’s clean and uncluttered, easy to navigate, and it supports the look of my brand. I designed it myself with the ready-tools from liveBooks, and it was really very easy. I totally enjoyed the process!”
Edite_Haberman_liveBooks_Photographer
Website: www.editehaberman.com
Hailing originally from Buenos Aires, Edite worked as an art director before devoting her energy towards photography. When I ask her how she chooses a project, she tells me stories of how her projects more often choose her. The themes of each portfolio are compelling. Her most recent work entitled “It’s a girl” has drawn praise and critique as a provocative concept piece around the subjects of youth, maternity, and infertility. She is now embarking on the second phase of this project, an ambitious documentary work that will take her to places around the globe in search of women struggling with infertility.

You can be sure that there is a story in every frame Edite captures. Her documentary work in “Where is my Babushka?” will take you into a different world. In her “Environmental Portraits” portfolio, Edite uses light to contrast each subjects’ prominent facial features; and, more acutely to express each subject’s personal narrative. In this regard, I’d encourage you to view her work as both a collection of photos and as a portfolio of human experience. Let yourself do more than see Edite’s work, feel the emotion that personifies an Edite Haberman photograph.

liveBooks has played a vital roll in the evolution of my business. Given the highly competitive nature of our industry, I felt it was very important to present my work in the most professional and clean format possible. Options like HD video using Vimeo and customization to integrate branding materials has made my website the best marketing dollars I have spent. It’s simple and it works.

Celin Serbo is an award winning photographer based in Boulder, CO. His work is inspired by his appreciation for natural surroundings and outdoor activities such as climbing, skiing and biking.

I chose a liveBooks Scaler website for the big images, ease of use and the integration with Vimeo. I also knew I could start with a predesigned website template and then customize it to make it my own. There are SO many decisions to be made concerning a website that it can become overwhelming to the point of not beginning at all. So to start with a well designed site that has had a lot of thought put into it and having the ability to personalize it to my taste and needs, made liveBooks an obvious choice for me.

The first response I get from people looking at the site is “love the big images”. Personally I love the intuitive navigation. It is important that you do not have to search around the perimeter of the page to figure out how to navigate the site. I specifically chose a template that had the navigation roughly where I wanted it – on the right side and at the bottom – and then made minor adjustments to make the site my own.

I love the collaboration with Vimeo. Being able to connect to a proven host where I already know the workflow has made integrating video into my site SO easy. And the viewer experience is awesome.

I try to be present in all of the obvious places and portals that art buyers will be looking. All of those places just redirect to my liveBooks website as it has a strong impact. It is important for buyers to instantly know what I do – and they can tell the moment they visit my site. My liveBooks website has made it easy for me to have a successful online presence that allows me to focus on creating new work.

Martin Sundberg is a photographer, director and DP based in the San Francisco Bay area specializing in making photographs and films of people living an active life, pursuing their passions, by land and by sea. His work has been recognized for capturing the intimate emotions and intensity of the experiences he shoots. His clients include a broad range of commercial and editorial clients spanning industries such as health and wellness, sport and travel. Martin’s site is a great example of how you can customize any of our predesigned website templates.

When we started looking around for a new website design/designer, one of our criteria was that we wanted to maximize the image while minimizing the clutter. Being able to take livebooks’ nuts and bolts and work with a real designer to create a custom site was just what we wanted, and we’re thrilled with the results. As is the case with most photographers, our website is the most important marketing tool we have. If we’re not happy with it, life is pretty rough. When it works, the phone rings.

Having a superior website with built-in SEO tools and round-the-clock customer service is critical to running a photography business in the 21st century. liveBooks offers a variety of site designs and design services, which allow your website to evolve with you. In the cut-throat business of commercial outdoor photography, having these items available as a professional looking turn-key solution gives you an edge. Professional presentation and ease-of use for first time viewers and potential clients helps you stand head and shoulders above your competition. The new Scaler sites enable you to bring even more punch to your presentation with full browser scaling images that will make any art director stand up and take notice of your finely attended to details.

I love liveBooks because I can easily manage my own content, their websites are scaleable and you can integrate many features into them. Zero down time is critical with potential clients viewing work around the globe. Past experiences with custom designed sites and large amounts of downtime forced me to see the light, and now I know to never look anywhere else again.

For photography, especially dynamic, element and detail driven work, having a Scaler site is invaluable. Art directors and CD’s want to see attention to detail that a full screen site brings, that smaller sites just can’t match. That’s the value add for WilzFoto. Going BIG…!

Jon Feingersh Productions

Posted by liveBooks

When I got my first liveBooks site a few years ago, I was impressed with how easy it was to make design changes and update my imagery. The liveBooks support team was extremely easy to work with.

The truth was I felt I really didn’t need a website, since 100% of my income was generated by stock sales. I only used it to establish my bona-fides for potential locations and models. Having recently decided to pursue assignment work, I knew I needed an updated website. Initially I was not happy to pay an extra premium for the Scaler site, but now I’m very happy I did. Our new Scaler site presents the images the way they should be seen – large and beautiful – which has a completely different visual impact.

Well done, liveBooks!

Jon Feingersh’s creative, iconic images are recognized around the world. As one of the top stock photographers for more than 25 years, he is adept at handling any production, large or small. Specializing in heavily composited images, making the impossible-to-shoot photograph look real is one of Jon’s finest talents. Whether an ‘action’ image or a portrait, his photos have the feeling of excitement, reality and resonance. Jon also does assignment work. We think his liveBooks website allows his images speak for themselves!

I decided to go with a liveBooks custom designed website after doing a lot of research. Most importantly, I needed a site I could update myself. I wanted a design to represent my work in a way that is clear and modern, yet traditional. My liveBooks designer listened to my input and considered what I wanted very carefully. I was amazed! My new site was up and running in no time. While the recession hit the wedding industry particularly hard my website has helped me exceed my projections for the year. The feedback I receive from clients and photographers about my site is universally positive – it’s the perfect marriage of photography and design. I highly recommend liveBooks as a complete solution that will give you a huge competitive advantage. Scaler has taken my website and brand to a whole new level. The impact is instant and gorgeous. It was an investment in my business that I’m glad I made!
